1. Are you trying out a new formula to calculate a goaltender's save percentage? There's an easier way you know. Divide the number of saves by the total number of shots on goal.

  2. just one: the point (-1,1). All other points on that triangle are on either x=0 or y=0 which are NOT included because x<0, NOT x<=0.

  3. why are all these off-the-wall questions getting posted in the sports/hockey catagory?

something on Yahoo must be really f-ed up because I cant believe that this many people cant pay attention to what forum they are posting questions in.

  4. I think if Crosby is healthy he'll lead the league in scoring this year. Not that Ovie won't be right there with him but, after the year he had last year he will no doubt see extra attention this season.

  5. Alright. X is less than Rick DiPietro's goal total

Y is someting between Shane Hnidy's goal total and Daniel Carcillo's Penalty Minutes

So basically Hnidy's goals- Carcillo's PIM is greaterthan or equal to 1 less than DiPietro's goal total + Mikka Kiprusoff's shutout total.

So you subtract Kiprusoff's total from both sides and you're left with Y (Something between Hnidy's goal total and Carcillo's PIM if he doesn't take a cross checking penalty vs. Dallas).

X therefore is Martin St. Louis' Short handed goal total less than Y

    Therefore the answers is

X= One less than Rick DiPetro's goal total

Y= Chris Mason's career goal total

    That's your answer

(< Rick DiPetro's goal total, Chris Mason's career goal total)
