I am considering hair laser removal. Has anyone done this before and how has it helped you? Do I have to keep going back for treatments?

  1. Yes I had under my chin and side of my cheeks. The gal that did mine warned me that its possible that the hair my not go away. I work in a salon where we have a permanent hair removal person....and if it was not for the free-bees I was getting I would not waist my money. Under my chin did not go away, but the sides of my cheeks are thinner. She did say everyone is different. Good luck!

  2. Have you also considered having Electrolysis done? It is also a very effective way of removing hair because it kills it at the root. You have to go for several treatments, but to the best of my knowledge, at some point, you may never have to go back.

Oh, someone did tell me that neither one works very well on very light hair color and light skin. It works much better if the hair is coarse and dark, not light and fine.

From what I have heard, Lasers are good at hair removal, but I can tell you that I had a laser facial treatment and it blistered my face for about ten days. I looked like I had the crud beaten out of me. I do not know if Electrolysis does the same thing, but it would be well worth checking into before you commit yourself to several sessions of hair removal.

  3. Hey, good idea!

  4. Laser hair removal is really good. And yes you will have to keep coming back for new treatments. But think of it this way, think of all the money you'll save on shaving cream!

  5. Hi

I am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and laser hair removal.

First of all, how old are you? What skin color are you? What color hair do you have?

If you have not gotten your period yet than wait till you get it because of hormonal issues.

If you are dark or have dark hair than the only technology that's suitable for you is the CoolGlide technology.

You will need about 12 treatments spaced out over 6 weeks.

DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT 4-6 treatments is all you need. IT'S NOT TRUE!!! I have been doing this for 12 years and it's just not true!!!

    Good Luck!

  6. If you want it, go for it.  It will get rid of hair and yes you will need to have several treatments 5plus.  It works great on dark hair and light skin.  If you have a lot of pigment in your skin the laser has a harder time "finding" the hairs.  It doesn't work very well on hormonal hair growth i.e.  chin/lip hair.  I hope this helps U.  Oh yea, it can sting, so get ready for the rubber band snap sensation

  7. Yes, Please do it, it is very expensive... cost me 400.00 for 5 appointments. Stings, but nothing you can`t handel. Best thing I ever did. Wish I had it done when I was younger... when it turns gray you are out of luck. Doesn't work on red hair either. I wish I had gone back for another round but did not have the extra money at the time.
