We stayed at the Riu Cancun in Cancun, and had a blast.  We'd definitely go back.

Nice pools, nice beach, great people, great food, great drinks.  It was an awesome vacation.

Go to Vactionstogo.com this is a great site to look for resorts. Then search for a resort called Riu Caribe in Cancun, this is an all-inclusive resort that is pretty cheap and has everything you need. I stayed there with my family on spring break and it was amazing. The grounds are beautiful, and the beach is one of the few that didnt get washed away.

So cheak it out, you will have a blast.

We are going to Playa del Carmen (about 45 minutes south of Cancun) for our honeymoon in October, to the Royal Hideaway.  It is an all-inclusive, 5-star resort that was highly recommended to us by some friends.  It looks wonderful!!  Check out the website:  www.royalhideaway.com.

I stayed at the Bahia Principe on the Mayan Riviera about an hour from Cancun and can highly recommend it. It's 5 star but given as 4* to 4* plus in many brochures but was seriously impressed as it a huge complex comprising of 3 hotels with loads of pools and jacuzzi's everywhere. If you don't feel like walking to the beach or anywhere else you can get a little extended golf trolley with driver of course to take you from outside your room, they are everywhere and you won't wait longer than 5 minute for one to come past so you can hop on.All premium drinks are included too like Baileys, Jack Daniels, etc etc not imitations.
