Considering getting my ears gauged?

I'm a guy first off.

Just trying to get some opinions on this. What are the pros and cons of this? I wouldn't get anything big; probably just something really small. If I later decide I don't want to wear them anymore (i.e. years) are there any long term differences? Probably a stupid question, but what the heck.

It really depends on what you consider big. I had my ears gauged to a 2 for a few years and they closed right up when I took them out but if you go much bigger than that (say around 00) they might not heal up all the way.

One of the cons is that it can get pretty expensive. If you jump sizes too quickly you can blow out your ear and it's a big pain. So each time you want to go bigger you have to buy new gauges and then your old ones are useless.

no long term differences, really. i used to have mine down to a 2 and it only took about a month and a half before i could wear regular earrings again.

theres not really pros or cons :/

besides that if you stretch them too fast your ear can rip, and it will only bleed a little bit. and, if you dont clean them enough they get really stinky.

I would advise against it. Unfortunately, there is no way to close it up after the skin has healed and stretched, so if you do it now, it's forever. Although you may think it looks good now, when you're 75 it might not look as cool.

No offense but people who mutilate themselves like that think it's cool but many people find it disgusting Personally I wouldn't do it ever unless someone paid me ALOT of $$$money$$$ If you don't want people to judge you as a freak then don't do if I'm not trying to be rude I'm just telling you that people will judge you, also if it gets infected you could easily loose your ear...its happtened before

also think when your older or when you have kids (if you do) you will most likely NOT want to be an old man with a giant hole in your ear would you?
