Astronauts in the orbitting space shuttle want to keep a daily record of their weight.Can you think how they might do it,considering that they are weightless?

  1. I don't know. I think they probably have a way considering it is very important. Maybe they don't even pay attention to that... all i know is that bone density decreases at a very quick rate in space and they have to exercise a lot. Hmmm ... well when they are in orbit it's actually like they are constantly falling. There is gravity present but their orbit around the earth makes it like they are constantly falling and are weightless. i have no idea if this helps... i have no idea i am just kind of telling you what i do know and maybe it will help.

  3. On Earth, Mass = weight.  They can determine their mass using special instruements (zero-g scales) that determine the amount of force needed to accelerate and decelerate a body.

  4. well they actually begin to lose mass since their muscles don't fight gravity anymore so if they could determine their mass then they can calculate their weight based on earth's gravitational pull.
