What would you change, improve, add, or delete to the various ways these three TV shows investigate reportedly haunted locations?

  1. ummm ,, best thing to do is YANK paranormal state and Hauntings as they are more of a "reality trash" type shows and put all the funds into Ghosthunters :)

  2. The first show I would toss in the trash is that one with the blond haired british chick or wherever she is from. Total BS and I cant believe that anyone buys into it. Kinda like John Edwards and the like. Paranormal State is a bit more interesting to me although I am not one for the psycics they seem more into the documenary of what can happen during an investigation. Ghost hunters is prehaps the best ever show dealing with the paranormal. as long as they get rid of all the darn noise and yelling it would be fine. Get rid of Andy as well, that guy is the most annoying person I have ever seen on TV. The other kid who thinks everything is haunted needs a couple zanax prior to the show and he would be alright. Do a show witht the intentions of proving everything with an ecplanation and quite the whole "I got touched" BS unless you get nailed like there cammera guy on ghost hunters, no one wants to hear about it. At east they do away with the whole "orb" BS along with "rods" and other bugs/lint in the cammera.

Any show that uses thermo equiptment and IR equiptment is going to catch something even when human eyes cannot see. You cannot trick a thermo cammera unless you record something you created wich can be found out pretty quick.

  3. I don't watch the last two, I don't think I get their channels. But I hear they are rather fakey. Or forced.

Although, love Ghost Hunters and appreciate their skeptic/debunking approach. More my kind of show...not considering it anything unless it's really that obvious.

Only thing with Ghost Hunters I would change would be their live one on Halloween. Cut down on the d**n sound effects! I know they are trying to make it a show, but geez. We don't need all the sound effects and music that's added in. Not only does it interfere with trying to hear what they think they are hearing, we don't need the confusion of fake vs real sounds. That, and I don't like how last year's was more scheduled than the previous year. Often something interesting was happening, but because they had it scheduled to go see what these other people are doing we got stuck watching two boring people with nothing happening while the other guys are off chasing something.

If I changed anything of their regular show, I would like to see more of the investigation, we see so little of it sometimes.

  4. I guess that depends on what you watch TV for. Do you watch to be entertained, or do you watch to be informed?  If informed, do you want scientific information, or pop culture information?

Let's say it's for getting scientific information. Well, Paranormal State is so awash in demons and religious ideas that it would need a complete makeover.  Regarding Hauntings -- I think that's the show on Discovery, right? -- I would want to see less dramatization and more attempts at investigation of the actual haunting locations, more interviews with the subjects, and a little more skeptical approach to the claims of the story being investigated.

Ghost Hunters has good elements of the above and some bad elements. Sometimes I'd rather see two psychologists or two physicists (or perhaps a combination is best) leading this team than two plumbers, though I do appreciate the hands-on knowledge they use to debunk some of the hauntings. In fact, on tonight's show they showed a lot of insight in spotting obvious fakes that a scientist may not notice at all. But I would like them to do away with the "lights out" business and start investigating when you can see clearly. And what would be great is if they also included in their team someone (perhaps educated in physical science) who did not hold any belief for/against the paranormal and who could provide more of a skeptical counter-balance.

    Good question.

  5. Ghost Hunters, Paranormal Investigators, et al tend to feel they have done their job if they have recorded an energy change, or even sound.  Have they identified the source?  Do they even care who produced it?  Do they have any concerns for the reason the spirit entity can make these sounds or recordings?  Do they do anything to help 'stuck' entities?

  6. Scientists should never be scared, and this 'OMG' scare stuff has no place on a documentary. Studying the unknown is FUN, not frightening. Lose the incompetents and gain credibility.

  7. one thing that gets on my nerves is that they always investigate in the dark/at night.  Surely evidence would be more credible in broad daylight.  If ghosts etc exsist (which im sure they do but not sure what 'they' are) i'm positive they don't hang around till it goes dark & then start howling in the darkness

  8. They need to try and find good images of ghosts.

  9. Paranormal state and Hauntings offer no proof of anything other that they are bunch of superstitious fools.  They offer descriptions of how they claim to feel and New Age myths.  They never capture anything that can be considered scientific.  Ghost Hunters has captured some very interesting audio and video.  Still not a true believer but I love to watch the T.A.P.S. investigators.

  10. i would improve their minds so they would understand that ghosts don't exist, if they did, don't u think we would see them all the time.

  11. I dont get these shows here, so i cannt answer...

  12. I don't watch the other two but for Ghost Hunters I would get rid of the background music so that we can truely hear what is going on in the background as they are hearing conversations or noises. It always seems like you are leaning in close to hear and then they pull up the JAWS theme.

That and have them investigate more than one day in a place. Like if they find some footage the first night then set up for another few nights where they personally experienced paranormal events so that they could catch more. I feel like one night is definately not enough to gather enough evidence for these claims.

  13. I never watch Ghost Hunters. It's right below that English show to me. I'd watch Paranormal State if I could ever run across it. I guess I don't like it enough to hunt it down. I try to watch Hauntings...but they're all reruns. I pretty much like it ..when there's a new one.  I can't really say what I'd change about them because they don't hold my interest enough to watch them that much. Sorry...I guess I'm not much help. I DO like Medium and Ghost Whisperer. At least they have a story with them...and are well written. I think it's kinda silly to go looking for ghosts...unless there's a need for it...like someone having trouble with them...or unless you can help them.

  14. I would get some proof about the haunting, and investigate when it's still light out. It would make it more believeable.

  15. I agree with one of the other posters.  If they find a spirit/ elemental that is trapped, they should try to help free them.  They should also try try to find more elemental/daemon hauntings along with traditional ghost/spirits.
