Consistency best contender for victory in Williamhill.com Stakes
Consistency is expected to continue his splendid form in the sport, by winning the Williamhill.com Stakes at Newcastle in England on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. The triumphant greyhound will bag a cash prize of £118 in the end.
A total of six very good runners will be up against each other in the 480 metres flat race, which will make the competition quite interesting. However, none of them seems to be in a position to challenge Consistency at the front, as he is carrying a terrific momentum right now.
The seasoned hound has been delivering some very good results in recent times, thus the bookies have given him a general starting price of 7 to 4 and the punters should also not doubt his ability to shine at Newcastle.
The D. Calvert’s trained runner made his debut back in November 2010 and did not take part in any competitive events back then. He did a decent job in a few trial events though, which helped him start the next season on a positive note.
In 2011, the black dog took part in a Grade A3 event and was rated as one of the favourites back then. He had excellent speed and did not have any issues in the race, winning it by four and a half lengths. No one was able to come anywhere closer to him and he led for most of the time.
This victory gave a lot of confidence to Balintore Brave’s son out of Speed Indeed and he gave a lot more decent performances that year. He was a touch inconsistent though, but got better with the passage of time, as his trainer kept on working hard on his form and fitness.
Consistency has mostly raced at Newcastle in the 2012 season, which means that he is fully aware of the conditions at this venue. He has enjoyed a very good time this year and has even shined at the highest level against fierce competitors.
Out of his previous three outings, the favourite runner has managed to win once whereas finished runner up on a couple of times. He should not have any issues today, as no one is looking in better shape than him.
