I'm 13 years old with a 3.8 handicap for 18 holes and I'm usually a fairly good ball striker (I play adamsgolf pro forged irons) but there are some days where I just cant make consistent iron contact. Any tips or drills on how to make more consistent ball before ground contact?

  1. Warm up properly before a round. If your muscles are still stiff then your swing would be jerky and irregular until your muscles get warm and you get into your groove.

  2. quit bopping your head up or down..  try to keep your angles all through your swing to be more consistent..

  3. Consistency is only acquired through dedicated practice and occasional lessons.  don't get too down on yourself,  Even the guys who play on TV on Sundays hit fat and thin shots and that includes Tiger ( granted he hits fewer than anyone else lol)

  4. some of this may come as a suprise to you .. maybe not...

the shorter the iron the farther back you should put in your stance.. test out the distances on the range..

also dont hinge ur wrists to much.. and more importantly have fun out there.. thats wat golf is for!!
