Constant bleeding on first pack of birth control pill Microgynon 30.......?

i started the pill to regulate some irregular bleeding i have but its nearly been 21 days now and ive been bleeding all the way throughout this time.

i was told to start the pill on the first day when your period starts but i was so fed up of the irregular bleeding/spotting i was already having that i started taking it straight away...the bleeding never stopped and on roughly day 14 it got heavier almost like a normal period and is now getting a little lighter

so......

1) is it normal to be bleeding this long and could this heavier bleeding actually be the 'real period' from the actually egg that was released prior to me starting the pill???

and

2) will i still get a withdrawal bleed in my pill free week which starts in 2 days regardless of the fact that ive just had a 1 week of massive bleeding?!

....thanks for replying!

  1. Yes, it can be normal to have some breakthrough bleeding when first starting out on a pill like Microgynon 30, but because of the bleeding you have had going on as well I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they say.
