  1. It could be a type of Asthma, my sister had this, it lasted months, but with her inhalar it is fine now.

If that is the case, supplement with Omega 3 1-3g per day, Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega brand strictly. As its pharmaceutical grade,

    Hope this helps.

  2. Sometimes a cough can become a habit because you've been doing it for so long.  If that's the case hypnotherapy can sometimes help.

If it is physical then healing could help.  I had a cough that hung around for ages and one session of healing cured it for me.

  3. It sounds like the constant cough is a symptom of possible allergies. Observe where you are or what you just did when you go into a coughing fit. You might get some clues about what triggers the coughing.

I know that when I'm stressed, I have a nervous cough that takes over, especially when I'm trying to talk to people I don't know that well. In that case, taking a sip of water and then breathing deeply help me feel calmer.

Definitely try to get rid of the cough--it's so tiring and taxing on your lungs.

  4. Here are a few simple home remedies that will help to overcome cough.  Suck a whole clove without chewing it to soothe a cough. Apples bring a great relief to a person with dry cough. Check out http://useinfo6.blogspot.com/ for more remedies and information.

  5. Go to a steam room. It will hurt like h**l and will make you cough but it will clean your lungs and throat out.

  6. If you are on blood pressure meds that can do it too.You may need to change to a different med if this is the case.

    Otherwise you may have COPD.

  7. Happened also to me. I used to call it "the 100 day cough" - tried everything, also specialist checked , X rayed and nothing wrong. Just took about that long to recover

Used to be given salbutamol inhaler plus cough mixture, worked a bit, but not truly satisfactory.

But here's my tip. I then felt that the best is to avoid the cause, and to me, it was coffee. So I avoided coffee and instead sipped tea, and for the past 9 months when I did not drink any coffee, I was cough-free. Other things may also cause cough eg, cold fruits straight from fridge, ice cubes in drinks, and smoky environments.

Another tip - most of the cough drops, I feel, tends to make the cough gets worser. It'll be better just to use mints.

    Good Luck!
