  1. if he has pooped today then hes not constipated..

he pulls his legs up because hes brand-new..babies naturally put their legs up in the fetal position ..same way he was in your belly..if hes crying..it could be Gas...or ya know sometimes babies JUST cry cuz they need to get it out..

if its gas use mylicon drops!

jus 1 or 2 drops in their bottle..or jus their mouth and i SWEAR it worked like a CHARM with my daughter and she was only 1 week old..they are about..8dollars at any drugstore

  2. Why do you think he's constipated?  Breastfed babies rarely are truly constipated.  If he's two weeks old, he could have colic.  Just make sure he's not hungry and comfort him, cause he's in pain. Constipation involves hard, dry pellet poo, so if this is what your son has, I would call the dr in the am, cause he could be dehydrated, but some breastfed babies can go days without pooing and it doesn't mean they're constipated.

  3. My son was the same way, but was eating formula.  I had to switch through four different ones.  A warm bath will help him and I know not the best thing but put a little vasaline on his little butt and that will help.  Also I would call his doctor they should be able to give you some more advise.  Poor little guy!  Good luck!

  4. My 2 month old son was constipated earlier this week. I asked his doctor what to do and she told me to give him 2 oz. of apple baby juice in the morning and 2 oz. at night, for one day. It worked like a charm. Hope this helps!

  5. Is he constipated or does he have gas? When was his last bowel movement. They say (they being pediatricians) say breastfed babies can go up to a week without a bowel movement. More likely he has gas. Milicon drops or Gripe Water. Lay him across your lap on his belly to put pressure on his belly. Or lay him on his back and bring his legs back and forth (up against his belly then straight again) these techniques will help pass the gas. If you do think it is more of a bowel issue, you can take a thermometer with a little Vaseline on the tip and stick it into the babes tush (NOT FAR!) This gives them the sensation to push. Luck!

  6. Try giving him some water, juice, or karo syrup in his bottle. If you decide to give him juice add water to it. Prune juice was the only thing that worked for my baby when she was 2 months old. I hope this helps. Good luck.

  7. he needs water, I have 3 kids and every one said that they didn't need water when they were born, I listened the 1st time and my baby girl was just like your son, so I gave her at least 1 bottle of water a day and it worked miracles. Also if this happens when he's a bit older pear juice works wonders. (the gerber stuff)

  8. DO NOT GIVE HIM WATER OR JUICE...EVER. It will mess up the protective coating on his intestines and can cause him to be more susceptible to infection. Also, babies cant absorb a lot of water and this can lead to more tummy problems.

Now that that's out of the way, my best advice is to use a rectal thermometer coated in Vaseline to loosen his bowels. In my experience this works nearly every time.

  9. put a thermometer with vasoline in his rectoum a bit and watch him **** it out

  10. You can get infant size (1 gram) glycerine suppositories in most parts of the world - pop one of those up his butt and he'll do a big dooey in under 20 minutes!
