How do I go about making a template of a 4 foot diameter circle, where all intersecting lines are 7 7/8 inches apart at the tip of the circle. I'm making a wishing well and it says to start with the above template. The 2 x 4 "bricks" are to be 7 7/8 inches long.

  1. Lay out your circle, then use a pair of dividers set at 7 7/8".  Walk it around the circle.  You may need to make it a bit larger, or smaller, to come out even.

  2. to make a 4 foot dia.circle.take a sheet of plywood pull in 2 foot left and 2 foot down where those 2 marks intersect, drive in a nail.hook a string line on your nail and wrap around a sharpie(at side or top where pen is jus barely still on ply.)

make a circle keeping string tight,

        over sized compass
