Question:

Contact Rx changed base curve from 8.7 to 8.3. Is this OK?

I went to the eye doctor today and my prescription changed from the following:

Acuvue 2, -4.5, BC 8.7

to

Acuvue Advance, -4.75, BC 8.3.

I am just wondering if the base curve should have been changed. I have worn contacts for almost nine years now and it has never changed, and I have never had to switch the type of contacts from Acuvue 2. Is this Ok, or will I have trouble adjusting to the new ones?

  1. depends on how they feel for you. Did you ask why they changed it? I personally would call and ask.
