Question

So, I've finally convinced my dad to get me contacts.

And I have big eyes, so are they good for me?

And can I still wear eyeliner on the inside with my contacts?

Is it hard work?

Is there anything I need to know?

Do they make your eyes watery, or itchy?

Do you prefer contacts, or glasses?

Why did you get contacts?

Contacts are just fine for people with big eyes.

You can still wear eyeliner, but it should be more on the front of your eyelid, so you don't clog your tear ducts.

It takes time learning to put them in and take them out.  You will have to practice quite a bit.  Once you get it, though, they are pretty easy to take care of.

Your doctor will go over everything you need to know.  Don't sleep in them (unless you are approved to do so), and don't overwear them (don't wear two week lenses for a month).  A lot of people do, but it can really damage your eyes.

They may make your eyes watery at first.  If you wear them for too long, they tend to get dried out and itchy.  Rewetting drops and not overwearing them can help with that, though.

I like both contacts and glasses.  Glasses are nice because you can just throw them on and off and don't take as much care.  I like contacts because my glasses are pretty thick and cause some distortion in my side vision.  You will always need a backup pair of glasses with up-to-date (or close to it) prescription in case you get an eye infection or can't wear contacts for some other reason.

I got contacts when I was a teenager because I thought I looked better without glasses.  I still think that, but I'm not so concerned with my looks anymore, so I wear contacts half the time and glasses half the time.

I wore contacts back in high school/college when I thought they made me look better. I wore them for probably 10 years. I ran out of contact solution during my "broke" days, started wearing my glasses, and just never went back. I had my eyes tested last year... but have had the same glasses for about 6 years now.

Contacts are DEFINITELY better! I've worn both and glasses just bother me.  It took me about a year before I could put in and remove my contacts with ease, and it was frustrating.  Sometimes it does make your eyes itchy and watery but your eye doctor should give you a trial pair of contacts so they can fit you with ones that make you feel more comfortable before you purchase them.  Yes I still wear eyeliner.
