Question:

Contact lens slipped up eyelid?

Just tried to get my contact lenses out and ripped half of my left one. The part left in my eye started moving up my eye under the upper lid. I tried to pull it out but am unsure whether I did flick it out or not. I have searched for it both on the floor and in my eye with no luck in finding it. This has happened to me before and last time my eye really hurt and I managed to get it out. This time it doesn't hurt at all. Can anyone give me any advice on what to do or how to check if it is my eye or not.

  1. to be on the safe side i would go 2 eye casualty. especially b4 u go 2 sleep

  2. It can be difficult to find them when they go right up or down in your eye.  It doesn't always hurt either.  You really need someone else to look for you, there might only be a small bit visible.  It needs getting out though, or it will cause you real problems.

  3. i have experienced this problem before, all you need to do s not worry about it, and eventually it will come out by itself, however if it does not come out after a day go to ur opticians and get them to have a look for you

  4. I think you should be okay. Not always does it hurt, and from past experience its always fallen out itself after a few hours. Keep trying to get it out and if nothing has came out by the end of the day/night Id say its not there in the first place. Unless you feel something in there in the next few days Id just forget about it.

  5. This happened to me before and the contact found its way out after just a short time, like 30 minutes or so. So don't worry. If it bothers you a lot, go to your eye doctor for help.

  6. it is most likely not in there.  of the patients who come in 'thinking" its in there...99.9% of the time its not.

  7. If you have a good reason to think something may be stuck in your eye, go to A & E. It's not a good idea to just leave it, serious damage could be caused. If it turns out there's nothing in there, you haven't lost anything.

  8. Firstly dont panic. Wash hands thoroughly, and just gently rub your forefinger gently over your eyelid. You may find a sharpness, then you  will know its there.Just massage downwards and the lens will move down and you can ease it out. Secondly, leave well alone, if it is still there in an hour or two you will feel irritation, follow the above. Otherwise pop into the optician tomorrow who will check for you, it will only take a few minutes. If there is no irritation by the morning i would say its gone/been removed.
