  1. go to your optomatrist, i where contacts too but i never really thought about tha so couldnt tell ya, srry

  2. OD is the abbreviation for you right eye it means your "right eye" as OS is your "left eye"

A base curve is the curve of the lens usually between 8-9 1/2.  Most lens brands come with a preset base curve.  Some offer more than one which makes your contacts more comfortable because everyones eyes are do not have the same exact curvature.

If you have a negative prescription like -2.5 you are near sighted.  Which means your eyes focus well and you can see things clearer closer to you.  If you have a positive prescription like +2.5 your are far sighted; you see things clearer the further away from you they are.

Visit an optometrist or ophthalmologist get an exam to find out what your persecution and visual acuity is.

  3. Oculus Dexter (right eye), Oculus Sinister (left eye), and Oculus Uterque (both eyes).  These are latin terms.  As for power: it means the strength of prescription your eye needs to resolve an image clearly.  You'll need a refraction from an eye doctor to determine yours.  Base curve is the curvature of the cornea in mm radius.  This must be measured by an eye doctor (or other appropriately trained individual) in order to determine which contact lens fits your eye.
