  1. Yes to both questions, only blood vessels grow into the cornea where none usually exists.  The cornea is starved for oxygen so these blood vessels grow in in an attempt to carry oxygen to the cornea.  Also, at the limbus (where the sclera [white part} meets the cornea) you can get dilated, flushed vessels for the same reasons as well as from poorly fit lenses.

As for lenses to reshape your eye, this is orthokeratology.  Not all doctors practice this, so you'll want to find one in  your area who has experience.

  2. If you wear your contacts as they are meant to be worn, you should not have new blood vessels form in your eye.  This will only happen if you wear them longer than you should.

  3. yes its true. i used to wear mine day and night for months at a time and now i have really bad eyes because of it. i can now only wear them for about 6 hours and i have to take them out, because they bug me.

  4. yah it is true. use the silicone lenses.

  5. You are talkiing about Ortho K lenses that reshape the cornea at night to improve vision during the day. Yes, they exist.

  6. depeds on the product

  7. contact lenses were not meant to be worn for 24 hours. use it only during the day, as wearing it causes the eyes to be dry (because the tears cannot reach the part where your contact lenses are)

contact lenses are just lenses, and they cannot in anyway alter the lens inside your eyes. they alter the light that passes to the inside lenses to give u a better vsion. wearing it overnight cannot make your eyes better in the morning. it will actually make it worse because your eyes might dry up.

    goodluck

  8. Yes, it's true.  I used to wear mine all day, all night..... never, ever took them out except to change them every 4 months or so.

Until my optometrist told me about the blood vessels.
