Contact lenses, question.?

I'm calling an appointment to the eye doctor tomorrow and I'm thinking about getting contact lenses.

WHen I ask for contacts, will the eye doctor order the contact lenses for me like they do with glasses or will they give me a prescription and I have to go out and buy them. Becasue I remember once at walmart in the medicine aisle, I saw contact lenses at the shelve.

So how does that all work?

  1. Generally they can order it for you if they don't have the prescription there in the store. But when i got mine, i just got a prescription, and the optician gave me the right one from they're store. btw walmart mite not be a good place to get contacts. idk it mite be a little cheap??? try lenscrafters.

  2. Well if you haven't ever had contacts then they will give you a trial pair first. You will wear those for about a week then the doctor will give you a prescription, but you should be able to order then there. You cannot get contacts without a prescription. The ones you saw at walmart were probably ones that just change the color of your eyes and has no strength to them, which is not good for anyone to use.
