Contact lenses, recommended usage?

What is the recommended time to have your contact lenses in your eyes before they cause discomfort or begin to degrade your eyes?

It all depends on what kind of contacts you have or are planning on getting... I personally use contacts that I have to take out every night and the pair lasts me about 2 weeks.  BUT there are kinds that allow you to wear them continuously for a month or two.  It all depends on what kind of contacts you have.  Worse case ask your eye doctor and they'll let you know exactly how long to keep them in.
