Hey this is a longshot, but I'm beyond dispair regarding my situation!!

I use to be able to wear contact lenses fine, I wore specsavers monthly (take out every night) no problems at all for about 5 years But.. I changed last year due to me going travelling, I changed to the continuous wear for a month.. After about 5 days of keeping them in, I began to get red eyes, I took them out and went to an optician in bangkok, he gave me some drops and advised me to keep them out for the following days. I did this, but the problem kept on reoccuring throughout the 4 months I was away. I was optimistic and thought that it was just these lenses, I got back and immediatly changed to my old lenses... But the same problem reoccured.. And now I can only wear them twice a week 4 hours a day at best. I tried the daily disposables but the same problem is happening...

I am thinking about getting laser surgery, but the worries and the cost is putting me off. I really want to solve the problem and wear contact lenses.

The symptoms I get are red eyes, where there are many vessels and certain dense areas of vessels building up. the longer I wear them there worst they get...

I generally don't think my eyes have been the same since I changed my lenses before travelling.

If anyone could shed any light on the situation I would be extremley grateful. Thankyou!

  1. You should go back to Specsavers and tell them your problems . It could be the so;utions that are causing the problem . But you cannot get this diagnosed on here .

  2. You should probably take a longer break from wearing contact lenses, maybe a couple of weeks or a whole month, You're eyes probably had a tiny scratch, and it takes a while to completely heal. Therefore it gets sensitive and easily irritated when you have your contact lens touching the area of your eye. If you really really have to wear em, I guess only for the shortest while, and take it off as soon as you can.

Sometimes I find it that it helps to wear sunglasses over them, to reduce the irritation.
