Contact lenses irritation?

i just got my lenses yesterday and when i kept them on today for half an hour, my eyes were like burning and they felt very tired. is that normal? i have acuvue oasys and im not sure if it's just my eyes or it's my lenses.

the first couple of days new contacts always feel icky. just follow your care directions. make sure you keep wearing them for whatever length of time they tell you to wear each day.

I have been wearing contact lenses for 8 years now. At one point I tried the Acuvue Oasys because my eyes would get dry from time to time. The Oasys ones actually irritated my eyes worse because they contained too much moisture. My eyes hurt so bad when I put them in, and the contacts would not stay in one place on my eye, they had a tendency to move around a lot. I eventually had to go back to my original ones, which are so much better. Do you have a history of bad sinuses or allergies? You would be surprised at how much contacts and sinuses/allergies can interact in a negative way with one another. My advice is to get a new prescription of just some normal, no moisture filled contacts and try those out. If you do have sinus/allergy problems get on a good daily medicine and that will help tremendously.

For a first time contact wearer your symptoms may not be such a big deal, although I had no problem with my first time wearing contacts. You should give it a few days and if it continues maybe look into what I suggested above. :)
