  1. your lens may be irritating your eyes and causing an allergic reaction. You may want to ask your optometrist to switch to a hypoallergenic lens like Acuvue Hydroclear...or a carbon soft contact lens. I've been wearing contacts for 14 years. The first few times I realize there's a wrong and right way to wear them...like when you put them on make sure the lenses look more curvy...if it tends to flatten out on ur finger its the wrong side..just flip it in the solution (if this is causing the irritation).

Be sure to give ur eyes some rest also. Have a pair of eyeglasses to substitute when ur not wearing ur lenses. Try not to sleep with them on. It gets REALLY dry when u wake up and it hurts really bad, and it's difficult to blink. Your eyes just need to breath a bit...the redness will go away after a few minutes. If not, call ur doctor.

    Ok, good luck!!!

  2. I recently (about 2 months ago) got contacts also, it's perfectly normal for your eye to be red. It's just not used to something on them, and you're also touching your eyes. After about a week it stopped for me. Just give it time. If it keeps happening after 1-1 1\2 weeks, ask your optometrist.
