Question:

Contact lenses newbie?

My prescription says that I have a base curve of 8.4 but the optometrist gave me a trial pair with a base curve of 8.7. They feel fine and I feel no discomfort whatsoever. He already ordered my contacts and the box says the base curve is 8.7. So do I call them to correct the base curve and get new contacts or is the base curve not really a problem?

  1. If its not a problem for you, then don`t worry about it.

  2. I am an optician and a wearer of contacts and it sounds like there is a mistake in how the Rx was written,. Call and make sure that it is written right for you. The base curves are specified for a reason. If it were not an important part of the RX it would not be included as part of the RX.

  3. best way to find out is to call your doc and ask

there could have been a mix up but it may be just fine

hope you like them better than glasses---they are so much easier perosnally

  4. well i wear contacts and i don't think it really matters as long as they aren't uncomfortable
