My eye doctor prescribed Acuvue Oasys with 8.6 base curve. But I check online. Oasys only has 8.4 and 8.8 available. Then which one I should order? The 8.4 one or the 8.8 one? Thanks!

  1. 8.4 in the left eye.....8.8 in the right

  2. 8.6 is exactly in the middle of the two sizes available.  There's no way for you to guess correctly.  Call the doctor and have him correct it for you....

  3. The Dr. obviously made an error...call them back and have them write another Rx.

You can't guess which it should be, 8.4 or 8.8...

  4. Talk to your Optometrist.  Ordering contacts online is never a safe practice.  I see more people at my practice with problems form ordering online.  Sometimes the money you save costs you far more in the long run.  Those measurements are based on specific measurements your doctor has taken of your eyes.  An 8.4 may feel "tight" while an 8.8 may "float" Speak to your optometrist please.

  5. You need to confirm the prescription with the eye doctor.  If the manufacturer does not make what the doctor prescribed, you need to tell the doctor.  Don't order something else- that's guessing and defeats the purpose of having a measurement and prescription by the doctor.
