Contact lenses??????????????

What are contacts like? Ive heard they make your eyes worse?

i got contacts about 2 years ago when i was 15 and my optition warned me that they could make my eyesite worse or there was a really small chance it may make it better....and now i can actually see better than with my glasses. Even though they cost me £216 a year they are still worth it, i'd say if you hate your glassses at least try contacts (you get a trial with most opitions anyways) for my trial i had to put them in then walk around town for two hours and go back to see how i got on with them, i thought i'd never be able to use them, untill i got them! Now i wear them all the time.

The only bad thing i find with contacts is if you drop it and cant find it lol

I've been wearing contacts for 12 years now. At first they were very uncomfortable and hard to get used to. But now, I couldn't imagine wearing glasses. I would suggest contact, although it might take a few weeks to get used to them in the long run you will like it better.

Everyone's eyes are different so what works for one person might not work for another and any advice you get on Yahoo Answers might not necessarily be best for you.

I'd recommend going and having a Contact Lens Assessment appointment with an opticians- I recently had one with D&A. They'll look at your particular prescription and recommend what kind of contact lenses you could have, what effect they'd have, whether you'd have any problems with them, that kind of thing. They will probably also give you a test with some, and let you walk around with contact lenses for 20 minutes to see what you think of them.

women  with glasses look very unique, and pretty, because the glasses allow a person to see better, or magnify what we actually see,

intensity is better than guessing

For one-don't hate yor glasses. I'm sure they suit you and you look fine. If you hate them, you can always get different ones, but I like them. My friend has similar ones and Id 4et he even has glasses from tym to tym. As for contacts, my sister has them and they do not make your eyes worse.She is delighted with them and you can't tell sh is wearing them. Either way, I'm sure you will lok fine so don't worry. I wore glasses for years and hated them, I have 3 children and I was always getting hit by hands,heads,ect. I lost count of the times they got bent and had to be fixed.

  Finally, about 1 1/2 ago, my glasses broke--my fault. I decided to try contacts. At first, I really hated them, I had trouble getting them in--one time it took an hour! Once I discovered "my" way of putting them in, I LOVED them. I would never go back to glasses--never!

   If you get the right contact for your eyes, you will not even know your wearing them.

   My eye sight has got a little worse since I first got them BUT they can't say it is due from the contacts since I take some meds that can cause this problem.

   I would say try them, what do you have to lose. They will usually give you a pair to try for "free" or you can found countless free-trial coupons on the internet.

   They will probably charge you a "fitting fee" tho, I think it ranges in price, I pay $20 for the fitting fee.

You can go and have a trial for free normally.  ASDA opticians are the cheapest for contacts I can find.  Ive been wearing contacts for over 10 years now and had no problems, as long as you keep your lenses and eyes clean you should have no problems.  The extended wear ones are very good as if you forget to take them out at night its ok.
