i now have my contact lenses for the first time ever! it's great compared to those glasses! ahah!

but my question is how many times do i have to change the solution of my contact lenses? the overnight solution, that's what i'm talking about. do i have to change them everytime i will be placing my contacts in them? or just once a day?

my optician forgot to mention them to me, and i forgot to ask her as well! ahaha!

thanks in advance!

p.s. my solution is a multi-purpose polyhexanide solution, if that is significant at all.

  1. When you put your contacts in your eyes, dump out the solution from your case.  If there's any debris in the case, rinse it out with solution.  Let the case air dry during the day.  Rinse the case out with solution and put new solution in the case when you take your contacts out of your eyes.  Make sure to rub the contacts before you store them.

If you put in/take out your contacts more than once a day, I would do this each time you insert and remove.  It's the best way to keep everything clean.

    Some other reminders:

-Always wash your hands before touching your eye or your contacts.

-Never use tap water on your contacts or your case.

-Contacts cases should be replaced every three months.

-Don't overwear your contacts (by sleeping in them if you shouldn't or by wearing two-week contacts for a month for example).  It is dangerous for your eyes.

Congrats on getting contacts and enjoy them!  :)

  2. every time you take your contacts out of your eyes, you should put them in fresh solution. dump out the solution as soon as you have the contacts in your eyes. also, it is good to give them a light rinse every once in a while before putting them in your eyes.

  3. Glad you like your lenses. Change the solution every time for peace of mind. It keeps everything clean and comfortable. Never use tap water. In emergencies I have used cooled boiled water but normally keep to your solution it is more soothing on the eyes.

  4. Once u have soak the lenses before in the solution then u have to chnage it. recommended to change it everyday

  5. You should change the solution every time you put your lenses in the case to store them...so every night, you put in fresh stuff before you put your contacts in to soak overnight.  Never reuse solution.

And, if for whatever reason, you wind up not wearing contact lenses very often and the lenese are going to be sitting in the case for more than a few days at a time, I would change that solution in the case every 2-3 days so you don't get bacterial growth in there.  For example, if you wind up not wearing your contacts for month, you should still change out that solution every few days to prevent bacterial growth in the case and on the lenses.  The solution only stays sterile until you put your lenses in it so if you leave them sit for weeks on end without changing that solution, you could be tempting trouble.

    Congratulations on getting your contacts!

  6. i've bin using contact lenses fro 5 years now, i ware them in the morning  and take them off before i sleep,i change the solution every time when i take them off at night, if i had to remove them more than once during the day i don't change the solution, so don't worry about it there is no strict rule about the solution it's just better that u change it at least once a day
