If my contacts are -5.00, how do I find out what my vision in terms of the system using 20/20, 20/40, etc.?

  1. Funny how come this has been asked so often for the last week.

    There is no way to tell what the visual acuity ( 20/20 value) is just by seeing the prescription.

    The only one who knows is the Doctor, when he did those measurements. He would have that in his files.

  3. Your visual acuity will be 20/400 (approximately.)

  4. They're two different measurements and cannot be determined from your prescription.

    Also note that for contact prescriptions, the optometrist prescribes ones which are less powerful than your actual prescription (-5.00) because the lens are close to your eyes compared to glasses.
