Question:

Contact under eyelid?

I've lost my contact under my eyelid before, but I always feel it stuck there and it comes out in a few seconds...today it happened but it didn't come out...but I didn't feel anything under my eyelid...I don't think I dropped it somewhere...I tried a long time to take it out but there's nothing...I gave up and put another contact on. If the contact is actually stuck under my eyelid, will it come out eventually? Do I have to worry about infection? It doesn't feel like anything in stuck there...

  1. Put some (lots) of eye drops in and relax. Perhaps closing your eyes will help too. I've had this happen with mine before, and if I relax and give my eye plenty of lubrication it will work its way out - just like a piece of dirt. You could also try flipping your eyelid inside out (as best you can) and using the flipped eyelid to push it down the front of your eye.

  2. Chances are, the contact fell out.  I did have one do this though, and it ended up rolling on top of the other and hurting.

When you go to sleep tonight, take out the one you put in.  Then, put some saline into your eye, and go to sleep.  I'd set the alarm for about 4 hours, and by then, the REM sleep should have your eyes moving where the contact will naturally come out, similar to sleep getting in the corner of your eye.  You shouldn't have to worry about infection, especially if if comes out within 12 hours.

  3. its possible it came out.

but you do have to worry about infection.

if it gets dry it will irritate you alot.

  4. wow dont let it stay there....

start soaking your eye in some solution.... i mean a eye bath...get that out before it tears any tiny veins that your eyeball and eyesocket have
