  1. I've been switching between contacts (for work) and glasses (for home) for two years now and my eyes are just fine.  I think its good to take the contacts out; it relieves stress on the eyes.

  2. I do. You can tell when you have used a pair of contacts for too long...the prescription starts fading and becomes blurry.

  3. No, once the lenses is open, it must be throw out after maybe dailies,bi-weely or monthly lenses

  4. I had used contact lenses for more than 10 years and my advise for you is to consult your eye specialist on your desired usage and have your glasses and contact lenses refitted periodically to avoid having your eyes being stressed if ever your glasses does not conform or not of the same grade as your contact lenses.

It is also advisable to shift from contacts to glasses from time to time to rest your eyes as extended wearing of contact lenses could cause damage to your eyes.

  5. I did.  I would swim in them just fine.  Just dont open your eyes under water.  Trust me.  Remember cholorine dries your eyes out so you will have to soak your contacts for a bit after swimming.  Also just spring for Lasik.  I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner.  At the age of 27 I got lasik and yes the first 3 days was painful (healing) but other than that nothing.  The whole procedure lasted literally 3-5 minutes.  After I sat up from the surgery I could see clearly.  You want to get lasik... dont wait around like I did.

  6. I tend to alternate between glasses and contacts and have been doing so with more frequency as I've gotten older and been developing dry eyes. If you don't wear your contact lenses as much, you can extend their use for considerably longer. Just make sure they are kept clean and not allowed to dry out inside their cases.
