Question:

Contacting by email or by phone

I have a specific thing I want to get an attorney to deal with. I have emailed plenty of them and they get my email address, home phone number and address. It seems like almost none get back to me. Is just sending an email good enough if they are interested or should I call them. I don't know if the case I am inquiring about is of interest for them to pursue or not. They have my phone number to call me. If few people get back to me does it just mainly mean they aren't interested in my case?

  1. call them! if you want a professional, BE PROFESSIONAL!

  2. Call them.  Most lawyers do not respond to the type of email you are sending.

  3. by phone is more directly way ....

  4. Well, most lawyers are vultures. If you are contacting those that offer "you don't pay unless you win", then they are selective on the cases that they take. None of them are actively willing to take on every case for the chance of losing.

If your contacting an attorny without that guarentee, it could be a number of reasons thet they arent contacting you. Usually win or lose they get paid, so If I was in your situation, I would call.

There is a few pros and cons about contacting every lawyer in town. If you contact one before your opposing party contacts them, it becomes a conflict of interest, and most lawyers wont take their case after hearing yours.

But if you are later than they are at obtaining a lawyer, the same thing could happen to you. Also, telling them too much without commissioning them can make it hard for you in the long run. Cases should remain as hush hush as they can be so your "battle plan" can be a seamless and suprising as possible.

  5. Go ahead and call! If you want something to get done, you have to make an initiative! I would say definitely call.
