  1. Ur 13 rite?

I am around that age, but LOADS of ppl when i was 13 got contacts! and sometimes they fall out or something, but u just have to get the hang of it... ur optitions just has to show u... u wont be left stranded, ppl will help u!!

  2. i think you should stop worrying

  3. I wouldn't get contact lenses at your age. But, if you really want to get them you'll need your parents consent.

  4. It's up to you on what you want to do. Go speak to an optician and say what would be the best choice for you to do.

If you're scared then maybe they're not for you yet.

  5. i got them the same time as you, right before high school=) i hated them at first, they were such a hassle to put in and take care of, but in the end i found it was SO worth it compared to having glasses...you can wear eye makeup now, actually be able to see when you go swimming, it's easier to play sports, and i can just see better in general. and after a while you get used to putting them in, it just takes time. when i first started it would take me like ten minutes to get one in, but now i can do it on the first try=) i would definitely recommend them!

  6. I got my first contacts a few months back. And even though I must admit I was a bit scared because I thought that you could get them stuck in your eye or something, the opticians showed me how to insert them and take them out again and with some practice I got better.

I used to have glasses and I didn't really like wearing them and now that I have contacts I feel more confident. I still wear my glasses at home and stuff so you dont have to wear contacts all the time...

You can probably have a trial period to see if you like them. I think that you should think about it.

  7. There is no reason to be terriefied. I have worn contacts for years now and at first i too was unsure what to do. I actually work in optics and so became used to the idea, this actually helped me. In your case i would suggest you give it a go. When you go to your opticians they should make you put them in and out your eye a couple of times before giving you the lenses to take home. However, if you are unable to do this you will be asked to come back.

In answer to your consern about damaging your eyes you have nothing to worry about. Contact lenses are designed to be comfortable in your eyes and they will not damage your eyes (unless you put it in inside out).

  8. I don't wear glasses neither contacts, but I don't know if I wll, so let me give you an advice. I've heard contacts are comfortable and you see better that with them than with ordinary glasses, people don't notice and they can help you more if you are currently doing some sport activity and can cause you less accidents.

So, if I were you, I'd use them immediately. I also heard that they're not so expensive as everybody thinks. There are also monthly contacts (you just put them and take them out once a month).

    Thank you for your time.

  9. Contacts are great. But if your worried about them damaging your eyes, more than likely you won't be able to get them in your eyes to begin with.  You cannot be afraid to put them in your eyes because then they won't be an option.  the dr's office won't let you leave with contacts until you put them in and take them out in front of the dr.

Don't have a choice to get contacts?

Ask your parents or the optician about 'high-index' lenses for your glasses.  High-index means that the lens in your frame will be thinner than just a regular plastic lens.  The higher the index the thinner the lens.

Explain to them why you want it because some insurances cover it and some make you pay for it.

Also polishing the edges in some lenses give a coke-bottle look when looking directly at you, so try to avoid polished edges when they ask.

  10. I think you should get contacts.

And,.....you're 13 and you're going into HIGH SCHOOL???

  11. if you want contacts i would just go for it speak to your optician about it and cos you've had your glasses so long it should be fine

don't worry about putting them in cos when my best mate got them it took her an hour at the opticians just to get one in but she's gotten used to it

    hope this helps x*x

  12. Contacts can seem scary at first, but they really aren't as bad as they seem. You're optician will help you put them in and take them out, so you know how to do it, and tell you how to care for them and such.

If you get contacts, I'm sure you'll find that it's really not that scary.

  13. I have quite strong lenses and what I do is pay a little extra to the Opticians to have the thickness reduced, visit an Opticians and have a word with the staff.

  14. Sure, nothing wrong with them I got them when I was roughly 14. Everyone's nervous about their eyes being wrong and stuff and how you can't put them in but the opticians really help and are patient. So if you're considering them just ask :)
