Contacts Help!?

Question

I just got contacts! i doctor said that i should only year them 4 hours today then tomorrow 5 then the next day 6 hours!

-What is tomorrow i leave them in for more then 5 hours what will happen?

-Can anyone give me any tips?

They say that so your eyes get used to them.

If you leave them in longer your eyes will probably get really dry since they are not used to getting such a little amount of oxygen. Just do what the eye doctor tells you to do because I did it just like they said and had no problems adjusting. Congratulations on your contacts!

This is wearing schedule is to let your eyes get used to having something in them besides your eyeballs.  If you wear them too long, your eyes might get irritated, you will rub them and rip your contacts or cause an eye infection.

Nothing really. He's just giving you time to adjust to them. If u can stand wearing for more than 5 hours, ok. If you are not yet accostomed they may start to sting your eyes until you take them out. But contacts should not be worn for more than 6 to 8 hours per day.

My doctor told me to leave my first ones in for 5 days. They got uncomfortable by then but no other problems.

Its to get you used to wearing them, and I noticed that I wore them for more than I was supposed to and got a huge headache but I really don't know.

Since I am righty, I use my middle finger to hold down the bottom eyelid and my left hand for my top eyelid. I use my pointer right-finger and gently and slowly put it on my eyelid. To prevent it from falling out, I gently take my hands off my eye, and use my right hand with my bottom eyelid and go up and down until I can almost see. Thats how my doctor told me... I have only had them for about what one month?

heyy  i have em too. its real easy once you get started. build up wearing them every day. your eyes will just feel dry no biggie if you leave them in a hour too much. TAKE THEM OUT WHEN YOU GO UNDER WATER i learned the hard way hahahha i lost one in the ocean..woops. lol ask me if ya need any thing else :]
