I recently had my eyes checked- my prescription changed! so i got new contacts- they decided to change my brand also. The new ones gave me headaches they were a -3, so then they dropped the script to -2.75, which still gave me headaches, so then they dropped it -2.5. I was still getting headaches, so i stopped wearing my contacts and wore glasses, now whenever i put my contacts it, my headaches seem to get worse.... I have seen an opthamologist and they said my eyes look fine, but she couldnt help with the contacts.

i have headaches for 6 weeks now and its insane... i want to be able to wear contacts again. what do i do?

  1. are these colored lenses?  also, what is the thickness of the contact lens?  check with your doctor for a super-thin lens which help your eyes to 'breathe'.  (I don't believe colored contacts come in super-thin, but I could be wrong.)  Also, you may want to have the doctor recheck your vision; perhaps she missed something on the first visit.

A long time ago, my eyes wouldn't accept contacts almost suddenly one day and after an thorough examination (at first it was thought I had allergies) I was found not to have enough oxygen flowing to/in/around my eyes because of the contacts.
