If one was to wear dirty contacts not sanitised properly, how long would it take for the bacteria to incubate for the infection to develop? What are the symptoms of contact infection and how are they treated?

  1. The amount of time for incubation would depend on the bacteria, environment, and the amount of bacteria present to start.Your eyes would be red, irritated, and most likely discharge some nasty stuff. The treatment would normally be leaving your contacts out for a week or so, and also antibiotic drops. If you think you have an infection, you should see your optometrist immediately.

  2. very soon like a few days. red eyes, painful.
