Contacts and smoking?

okay, i just got my contacts a few days ago.

problem is, i smoke, both cigs and pot.

will smoking effect my contacts at all?

like if smoke were to get into my eyes or if my eyes get red after smoking pot?

please dont just say: DONT SMOKE.

  1. I am unsure of what the effects of smoke on Contacts are but there are effects on the eyes.

    Smoking decreses tear production leading to dryer eyes. The eye needs constant lubrication from the tears in order to the contact to function properly on and for the eye.

    The results could vary from very mild to serious, ranging from slight dryness, to irritation, to redness, to sensitivity to the CL's, to... in extreme cases, the lens adhering to the eye.

    Simple solution after all of this gloom and doom... artifical tears/lubricant/eye drops that are specifically ment for contact lenses will solve most of your problems if you start to experience any of these.


  2. HERE'S A SIMPLE SOLUTION, DON'T SMOKE POT! IT'S EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY AND CAN KILL YOU!!!
