This has been happening ever since i wore them at the beach in the water. My eyes get slightly blurry every now and then and blinking helps just a little bit but it stays blurry. I went to the city last night with some friends (nyc) and they were getting blurry again so i decided to pick up some contact solution and clean them. I cleaned em and they stayed perfectly clear for about 10 minutes when they started to get blurry again. So from then on i just dropped some solution in my eyes and they'd stay clear for only like 5 minutes and get blurry again. I did that like at least 20 times throughout the night and it was a real pain in the ***. Someone said they might've been scratched from the salt water at the beach. If this is so, howcome solution clears it up? I also have allergies since i live in atlanta and im not used to this climate. I wasnt stuffed up at all though last night and i was fine. Just my vision was messed up. What could this be and how can i remedy it?

  1. The solution doesn't clear it up, I'd say the solution reflects light off so you can momentarily see, and then it would start to blur again.

Who knows what could've been in the beach water, it would have been best to wear goggles, or just not wear contact lenses while swimming in the first place because salt in the water, bacteria, and germs can easily enter and infect your lenses. Let this be a lesson :)

Near a good source of light like a lamp, examine your contact lens. There's a good chance there are scratches on it, or it's just plain dirty even though you've cleaned them. Most likely from the beach water, or maybe from rubbing it so much with solution that you accidentally dented it.

Whatever the case, blurry or very irritating contacts to the point where you're cleaning 20 times in a day should be removed and thrown away. If it's those 30-day contact lenses, it's okay if you throw one irritating pair away! What's the point of risking your vision, and having the stinging and blurriness get in the way of having a good time?

  2. My contacts get blurry every now and then.

The drops don't help because the side of the contact facing your eye is smudged, and the drops don't clean it. Just take them out and rinse them with solution before putting them back in.
