Im 13, & I go under the water. I usually try to wear goggles but i occasionally open my eyes without goggles. I would try not to with my contacts. Is it okay to wear them if I just be careful ?

They are softlenses & are disposable after 2 weeks.

  1. i am 14 and i also have contacts because i am a competive swimmer and i'd say just be careful because your eyes can get irritated if chlorine gets in the contacts so just dont open your eyes underwater use goggles : )

  2. No. I don't think it is safe, and I doubt the contacts will help you see in the water as they aren't designed for it. If you are willing to pay the sum I would suggest buying one of those goggles made specifically for ppl with short-sighting etc. You'll find them in any good swimming shop. I doubt the contacts would make a difference, so it's better to just wear goggles as well. Just don't use contacts. However, I do know a girl on my swim team that once forgot to take her contacts off and swam with them. Afterwards, they were damaged quite badly. If you go swimming a lot, that would mean changing contacts really frequently and that may become pricy so I'd strongly suggest just buying one of those goggles or wearing normal goggles if your eyes aren't that bad.
