  1. they're supposed to size the contact lense to your eye

    so maybe go somewhere else

  2. Contact lenses can be custom made to fit if disposables don't work. It sounds as though your optometrist wasn't very positive about the whole thing, I suggest seeing a different one. Perhaps try finding a member of the contact lens association/society in your country/state. Contact lenses can be fitted to tiny babies, small eyes is no reason not to have them.

  3. hey.

so, i went to a contact lens fitting, and i got my contacts today.

And I don't think they meant your eyes were too small; I think they meant that you just couldn't put them in. I would suggest going to a different optometrist.

Don't worry, everyone has trouble putting them in. It took me a little while just to get one in today.

I think you would be able to get them, you just have to practice.

Try washing your hands and touching the white part of your eye. Make sure your hands are clean, and DON'T touch the colored part! And don't try too much either. Just until you get the hang of it.

If you can touch your eye without blinking, it should be fine.

  4. I should know this one......

I have glasses for about 17 yrs now.  and contacts 15yrs.  my brother had the same problem in the begining, he just couldn't even get his head around it, putting something in his eye.

but now after 12 he's 28, that he just starting wearing them.

it's takes alot of practice with your eyes, even a person like me, who's worn contacts forever, sometimes have problems, keep my lids open.  in the mirror try touching your eye ball with your own finger, and try to keep the lid open.  it takes time and practice.  and when you go for a fitting let the doc. know that you want to try to put them in by yourself.  and let you be alone and practice.  you are paying them so demand that time.  and if you can't get it in half hour come back next day and try, and give sometime.  it took me one hour first day trying to put them in but had no luck, and next day it was in 10min.  only cuz i kept trying to put them in my head all night :)

so don't worry you will get to wear them, just give time and to yourself, and play with your eyes :)
