Ok, so i just got contacts yesterday and i had a tiny bit of trouble getting them out last night, but i got them out. So this morning i got up expecting trouble but at least getting them in... I cant get my contacts in and its worrying me. The doc. put both mine in and i got to take the right one in and out once..,but the thing is im right handed. Well, i'm going back to the eye doc. tomorrow for some "more practice". Maybe so the nurse can help me or whatever. My question is... Do they get easier to put in and take out as i go along?

  1. yes after awile its so incredibly easy. i do it everyday. you should really go to a doctor like i did. they sit there and talk you through how to put them in and out. and make you do it at least 4 times.  really. it gets so much easier. dont worry about it.

  2. I've been wearing contacts for years, and it definitely gets easier as time goes on.  Just don't get stressed out or too worried about it- because that will affect your ability to get them out/in.  Just relax, and if you can't get it right away, put them away and try again a little later.  You'll get it, don't worry.

  3. Oh yeah let me tell you! It really gets eaiser! When I first got mine, the lady at the eye doc. put one in for me, and made me put the other in. She said if I couln't get it in then I couldn't have them. I got them in after about 30 mins!! LOL then she was like, "You sure you want these??" I was sure! It took me 1 hour getting them out the first night I had them, then it took me a while getting them in too! What I found that helps me 100%, put them on the middle of your finger! I was putting it at the top, like where the fingernail ends, almost right therre. That didn't help, so I put it down lower, kinda where you finger has that little bump where your fingerprint gets kinda swirly(lol i'm bad at describing) but put it down there and it's super easy. Also I look up when I take them out and put them in, so I don't have to see my finger so close to my eye! :P hope I helped!!

  4. OH YES! It gets much easier as time goes on! I'm an optician, the first time I put contacts in my eyes it took me 45 minutes, and I knew what I was doing.

I'm right handed, my left hand is used for typing, and that's about it, except putting in my left contact. It's hard to go across your nose, balancing a contact with your right hand to put in your left contact, try using your left hand. It takes some practice, don't worry. If you have time this morning or tonight, just practice putting them in and taking them out, it'll get easier everyday!

  5. It definately gets easier as you get used to sticking your finger in your eye.  I'm also right handed, I use my same hand to put each contact in.  I use my other hand to hold my eyelids open really wide and pop it in.  I remember being really nervous and getting upset when I was getting used to it.  If you try a few times and are unable to get in it, just put in back in your container, wait a few and try again when you calm yourself down.  Good luck, it will get easier!

  6. Yes sure - with more practice you can go along well

Always keep an up-to-date spare pair of prescription glasses handy to give your eyes rest from the contact lenses.

Never sleep while wearing your daily wear contact lenses

Never change or mix lens care solutions/systems without consulting your Ophthalmologist.

Avoid oil-based make-up. Avoid getting cosmetic creams and lotions on your lenses

Remove your lenses in case of red eye or irritation. Seek medical attention immediately.

  7. Yes!  The first time i tried to put in contacts it took me an hour to do it!   My eye just kept shutting and wouldn't let them in.  I even had a mirror to look at myself and it was horrible!  The eye doctor didn't want me to have contacts!  Now, years later i can put them in and out like nothing.  i don't need a mirror.  i can do it in pitch black.  Believe me it just takes practice.
