Contacts question?

I've had contacts for about 1 1/2 years, and I have the kind you are supposed to take out every night, I've just been taking them out every 2 weeks though when I had to change them, I know that is extremely bad and theres alot of infections and stuff that could make me blind so you dont have to lecture me on all that, I'm taking them out every night now but the thing is when I'm wearing contacts I can't feel anything but when I have them out my eyes, they don't hurt but they're kind of itchy. Are my eyes damaged or are they just not used to having contacts out?

  1. you may have scratched you retinas already. you should go to eye doctor

  2. I did that, and had that exact same problem. It's called de-vascularasation, and what's happening is this: The more you leave them in, the more protien builds up on the surface of your contact, and it causes irritation on your eyelid. The irritation causes tiny little bumps on the inside of your eyelid. Then, when you take them out, those little bumps scratch your eye, and that's why it hurts. With mine, eventually they wouldn't let me wear contacts anymore, because the more you do it, the more damage it can cause. You must remove your contacts regularly and clean them. For now, try washing your eyes out with baby shampoo. I know it sounds crazy, but it really works and it doesn't hurt at all, I promise. After a few days of this, it won't hurt to have them out anymore. I'd go and have it checked out, they can see pretty easily if that's the problem. Good luck!

  3. What you describe sounds like there is some type of irritation on the surface of your eye, and when the contact is there it acts like a band-aid, and when it's not there you feel the soreness.

Have you thought about not wearing them for a few weeks, just to give your eyes a rest and a chance to heal just in case there is something going on?
