Question:

Contacts seem noticeable?

I just got contacts and I am actually using the trial pairs now. I got two pairs:: One for astigmatism (apparently I have that) and the regular one.

astigmatism--they don't bother me as much in my eye as I thought/heard they would, but it does bother me that you can see the contacts in my eye. Its pretty glossy looking, and you can see the edges quite well from a talking distance. (not sure what brand because the optometrist opened it)

regular--they don't bother me at all and you can't see them from a talking distance, which is good. (acuvue brand; I opened it)

Also, for both, I sometimes think I see a light blue hue around my iris with my contacts in...maybe its just me? I am not sure...

thanks!

  1. Sometimes people can just notice them in your eyes,I notice whenever I see someone has the blue contacts like you do,and sometimes it's all I can focus on.It's too easy!

  2. I wear purevision toric for astigmatism and they have a slight blue tint to them and I can see the ring around my iris.  My eyes are blue anyways so it is hardly noticable.  I do not have any correction in my right eye so my eyes do not look quite the same.  I only have one friend that ever noticed it because she also wears purevision toric.

  3. hi! im using trial lenses now too and both of my lenses are for astigmatism.

to me, i can see the edges quite well myself, but when my mum and friends couldnt see. they would have to focus and looked very closely. Well, unless they are contact wearers themselves, normally nobody can our lenses :)

and like yours, mine is also in tinted light blue and my eyes are brown. no worries about that, trust me, it 's quite invisible actually and well, nobody shld stare at each other 's eyes while talking anyway.

and the good thing about able to see the light blue hue around your iris yourself is that when you remove your regular contact from one eye, you can see clearly where you're touching when removing the eye with astig.
