  1. It will be fine. it is only slight difference.

  2. The difference in diameter usually doesn't affect the fit very much.

But...being a different brand, the material will be different, and the Base Curve may not fit the same as your old lenses, even if they are both 8.6

So, they may fit, and they may not...that's why trial fittings are done at the Dr's office.

  3. In truth, a difference like that is minimal at best. There are other components that make up you lens fitting; base curve, lens material. If you are looking to switch brands and the new one is a 14.0 Diam talk with your eye doctor and I am sure she/he can explain and recommend. Good luck!

  4. erm.. are you sure the diameter is 14.20mm? Because normally, it's around 12mm. and soft lenses are made in such a way that it's bigger than your cornea (the transparent tissue covering over your iris) so that even when you blink, the lense won't brush against your cornea circumference to cause any discomfort.

So let's say if your diameter is 14.20mm, a 14.00mm lenses would no doubt causes discomfort.

But if the 14.20mm is referrring to your previous lens diameter, a 14.00mm lens won't differs much. BUT still, as mentioned earlier, the base curve, designs, thickness, water content, lens material used etc would all affect the fitting.

So, to determine if the lens is suitable, you should always have your eyes checked by the optometrist.
