The talented team trainer believes signing Suarez, Ibrahimovic or Higuain will not help them get closer to the top European clubs and wants to follow Bayern Munich’s example
Juventus FC head coach Antonio Conte feels signing a prolific goalscorer like Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 will not help them to do well in the UEFA Champions League. The Italian champions were knocked out
by Bayern Munich in the last eight of Europe’s premier cup competition this term.
As a result of this, a number of people have said that the Serie A giants needed a high profile forward and got eliminated because of that. Nevertheless, the boss claimed that his side should analyse other alternatives to come
close with the best clubs and believe the Turin outfit need to look at Der FCB’s model.
He stated that he always gets amused when pundits say that the Old Lady can claim the Champions League if they sign a couple of good players, but he said that there is a massive difference between them and the top sides. He suggested
he would love to have players such as Higuain, Zlatan or Suarez for the fans.
"I can only laugh when I hear people say that Juventus can win the Champions League with two or three good signings. The reality is different. There's a big gap with the top," he added.
"Ibrahimovic, Suarez or Higuain? You cannot say no to players like that for the fans, so if it was up to me, I would take all three of them. Even that would not be enough to win the Champions League, though,” he mused.
"We have to follow the model of Bayern Munich. These are the kind of things I discuss with the president and [general director] Giuseppe Marotta,” he said.
Moreover, he admitted he would sign the top strikers but that would not make them competitive for the European competition. Therefore, he feels that Die Roten’s model should be monitored and that he has talked about this with the
president and general director Giuseppe Marotta as they have to get better in all positions.
