The Bianconeri manager’s assistant played the role of his boss in the practice game against Malaga, and has stated that he is looking forward to the Supercoppa trophy match against Napoli.
Antonio Conte’s substitute Massimo Carrera has made his debut at the bench of Juventus, in the friendly against Malaga which his boys won with the score at 2-0.
The Bianconeri manager is currently facing a possible 15-month ban from the bench, following his involvement in the match-fixing scandal, in which he is facing a trail for failure to report an attempt to fix a match.
The accused individuals also include Conte’s assistant Angelo Alessio, who is also facing a possible ban, along with Christian Stellini, who has taken a plea bargain for ban of two and a half year.
The tactician has been brought in by the Old Lady to act as the substitute of the former Siena coach, as a contingency plan to cover the possibility of a ban on the manager.
Massimo Carrera admitted to feeling the pressure in the beginning, but maintained that he is happy that the match went well for his team.
The former Juventus player insisted that he discussed the game with Conte after the match, and stated that the focus of everyone at the club is on the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana clash with Napoli.
The temporary manager also stressed upon the importance for his team to keep on improving ahead of the added challenges in the upcoming season.
While talking to the press, the 48-year-old said:
“At the start I was a little anxious, but as time went on I relaxed. I spoke to Conte after the game, but only about the performance of the team. This was an important test, though we only managed to show what we can do in fits and starts. We need to improve
and help the new ones to settle in. In a week there is a big game with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 that we really care about. We hope to see as soon as possible the type of Juve that impressed so much last season.”
The Italian Super Cup match is set to be played in the famous bird’s nest stadium in Beijing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/China-c8926.
