Contenders to win the 2011-12 Bundesliga title (Part 1)

The German Bundesliga is one of the most competitive leagues in the world and it consistently springs surprises at the end of every season as the competition is tough amongst the top teams. The League has seen four different clubs
lift the trophy in the past five years which shows the extent of the competition in its ranks. The major contenders to lift the trophy in this season are:
Borussia Dortmund
Jurgen Klopp’s side were certainly last year’s head turners from last season. The Borussians were the youngest team in the German League and took the Bundesliga by storm with some sensational performances throughout the season.
Die Borussen scored 67 goals in the competition and conceded a mere 22 all season which made them one of the best defences in Europe.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 and Barrios remained at the club.
Ilkay Gundogan, signed as Sahin’s replacement, has already shown his class while playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Nuremberg-c38162 last season. The club’s youth has produced some brilliant players in the recent past and 19-year old Mario Gotze is surely
another one to look forward to. The youngster is touted to be the next big thing in German football and had already attracted interest from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the summer.
Dortmund still have a very strong side with one of the best central defenders in the league. The team is still the favourite to defend the title as they have great squad depth and some brilliant talent to look forward to.
However, lack of summer spending could turn to be a factor for the champions as there have been injury worries in the previous campaign. Shinji Kagawa missed the second-half of the last season through injury but Gotze was there
for cover but what happens this season will be somewhat interesting.
Bayern Munich
The Bavarian giants are http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904’s most successful club with a total of 22 league titles. They have always been amongst Europe’s top teams and have also won the UEFA Champions League or the European Cup on four occasions.
Die Bayern has a disappointing campaign last term which saw the departure of the domestic double winning manager, Louis van Gaal. The club failed to live up to the expectations in the 2010-11 season after winning the Bundesliga,
DFB-Pokal and reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League in their previous campaign.
Bayern ended up in third place at the end of the term and were fortunate to qualify for the Champions League after facing stiff competition from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492, behind the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the next season promises to be a great one for the Bavarians as there are many positives to look forward to which includes the arrival of former Leverkusen manager Jupp Heynckes in the summer.
Bayern have also been busy in this summer’s transfer window and have acquired some very important players in the form of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424, Rafinha and Jerome Boateng which would definitely strengthen the side’s defence. Furthermore,
the arrival of young players like Nils Petersen, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Takashi-Usami-c34524 and Dale Jennings would also help in adding depth to the squad.
