  1. Prolly need some colorful iron-that's spoon-shaped jigs for jigging rockfish. Also plenty of lead-1-2 pounders for getting the bait down quickly.

Assortment of snap/swivels and circle hooks. Also some shrimp jigs of various colors.

Don't forget a good thick glove and a pair of needlenose pliers for handling your catch.  Take a burlap sack for your catch. A disposable digital camera and a tape measure/scales will verify those you caught and released. Some anti-seasick pills and some SPF-30 or higher sunscreen can be real life-savers, should you need them.

  2. a good variety of plastics and lead heads up to 2-3 ounces.  A few 'tady' or 'iron' type lures.  Magnum Rapalla's for trolling.  I'd worry more about having the right sizes and types of hooks since fishing with live Bait usually is the way to go.  You don't need all those bass type lures freshwater guys use.  Oh yeah, a 1 -2 oz. Crocodiles are always good for everything from calico bass to white sea bass.  And NO snap swivels!!  Those are for people that can't learn to tie a hook.  And one last thing.  Salt water fish and bait stink.  Carry a little tube of tooth paste to wash your hands with.  It is my best 50 years of experience hint.on.  lol
