Contex copymate g18 ijet reads 'not ready'

Question

It is only two months old and hasn't been overused at all... it was shipped over from america and our distributors (middlemen) are unable to answer our questions without asking the americans first... it simply reads 'not ready' on the scanner display... this is rather urgent, the scanner playing a key role in my business enterprise... any help would be appreciated, thanks
