Continental Economy class?

Question

I heard 2 things, and they're totally opposite, 1) the tv screens are 3 seats apart or 2) the movie screens are on every seat.

and, is the service any good?

oh, and if you can give me any other info about 3rd class continential, that would be great!

For the Ohio-Newark leg of your trip, you will likely not have an in-flight video.   There are a number of aircraft you may be on, ranging from the Embraer 145 (no video at all), to the 737 (overhead video) or possibly the 757 (personal TV sets).

From Newark to Amsterdam, you will be onboard either a 757 or 767.  Both feature personal seatback TVs.

Continental's service is rated as some of the best among US Domestic carriers.   You may receive a small snack or free drink on the domestic leg.  The transatlantic leg should have a hot meal, and cold snack service.    You may find the transatlantic flight slightly cramped if you are on a 757, as it is a single aisle narrowbody aircraft, but this is the only potential detractor from what should be an otherwise pleasant flight.

Buy a DVD player.......borrow one............get some dvds.......if you want service don't be so cheap and fly 1st class........

they use a 757-200 or a 767-400.  The 757 I am pretty sure has the videos that come down from under the overhead bins, but I don't know about the 767.  

Service?  I am partial to Continental as they tend to have friendlier people than that other airline from Texas...

It depends on where you are flying to, I have had the TV screens on the back of every seat, but these are usually long flights, like to Europe. Flying in the US, you are most likely to get a plane where the movie screens are at every 7 rows or so. You will not be able to hear the movie too good either because of the planes engine noise. You will have head sets, but they are not of too good of quality. So the bottom line is enjoy what you can and don't worry about the little stuff.
