Continental elite miles from delta?

OK - I have platinum status on CO and want to keep it. I've been flying to a city who seems to have better rates from Delta. Can you tell me if the miles from Delta on my CO number count toward elite status?

  1. continental is soon to be partnering with united/us air.. .. in the past you could use co and dl miles on either airines..but with this new agreement it may change

  2. At only 50% on most cheap fares. You can find the list of fares and which fares earn at 50% or 100% towards elite on the CO page below.

  3. Yes, as this point they would. I'm not sure what is going to happen after the Delta/Northwest merge, but right now Continental is mileage partners with them.

Many people are speculating that American and Continental are going to merge to compete with Delta/Northwest. And if that was the case, then they probably would drop their mileage partnership.

  4. Yes, but as said before at  a lower rate (i.e. 50%, 25%)

Plus while is is true DL will merge with NW, CO has already made the decisoon to be a StarAlliance partner, i.e. USAirways, United, AirCanada, Lufthansa, etc.

If DL is better for you my recommendation is to use the CO ONePass rewards towards DL flights as soon as possible.

Then move al-together to the DL SkyMiles programme.
