Continues to run. I have Kenmore upright that continues to run and has a layer of ice in bottom.

I have Kenmore upright that continues to run and has a layer of ice in bottom. The unit is self defrosting.I adjusted the temp control to warmer setting, but it will not shut off automatically,Thanks for help.
